Named after a mythological Hindu creature, considered the guardian of gateways and the entry’s to temples, the Makara is a lightweight utility knife that can can switch to a defensive role when needed. It also has a very personal connection to one of our Knife Makers, the Makara was designed in honor of Elijah’s grandfather.
The Makara is designed to be a simple, lightweight forward grip knife that could be used as a more utilitarian every day carry knife. The blade is just under 3″ long with a pronounced and robust point and a swept flat-ground edge, making it adept at general utility tasks, light bush crafting, or in a pinch could be used for defensive application as well.
The handle is fairly neutral and has great ergonomics for its more utilitarian tasks. It’s also on the smaller side, making it very easy to carry.
This is a great little knife that also happens to be very elegant and fit for a gentleman’s EDC!
