AEB-L
AEB-L is a Swedish stainless with a long history in razor and cutlery manufacturing, and its adoption by the custom knife community has been driven by one fact: it performs exceptionally well in thin grinds. The steel has one of the finest carbide structures of any stainless, which allows makers to push grinds aggressive without the brittleness other steels might show. The result is a blade that cuts with remarkable efficiency and sharpens easily. Corrosion resistance is solid, toughness is good, and behavior during heat treatment is predictable and forgiving. It's a favorite for kitchen knives and EDC fixed blades where slicing geometry matters most.
